Thanksgiving With Food Allergies
Hello and welcome to my post on Thanksgiving with food allergies! If you’re like me it’s very annoying eating the same meals on Thanksgiving as you eat all year, it turns Thanksgiving into… un-Thanksgiving, anyway it’s boring eating the same thing over and over again because you have allergies.
This happened to me before I found out some new foods that I could eat along the way. These are some things I try once in a while This helped me have a good Thanksgiving with food allergies so I hope this helps you and that by the time you’re done reading this, you’ll have a good idea of what to put on your Thanksgiving menu this year.
1. Potatoes
Potatoes are a wonderful snack to eat on Thanksgiving! You can do so many things with them, cut them, boil them, mash them, bake them, or even eat them in a salad! You can even get some potato snacks like potato chips or something. Potatoes are healthy and nutritious and they grow from the ground, so it’s probably more nutritious than most foods that you might already eat daily. I like eating my potatoes when they are baked, they taste so good! Once you bake them you can slice them and serve them to the family or something. I think you will like it too, so I recommend trying it.
2. Plantains
Plantains are also a wonderful snack that you can eat on Thanksgiving! These are very healthy and nutritious, and they also taste so good you wouldn’t believe that. You can eat them with so many things, but they are really good if you eat them with something like a dip. Some common dips are guacamole, hummus, babaghanoush, etc. They are also made into products such as Plantain Chips, Plantain Egg Rolls, Baked Plantain chips, etc. But that’s not the best part! You can make some of these products yourself for you and the family to enjoy!
3. Chicken
Chicken is a great alternative for people who can’t eat or don’t like turkey. It is very nutritious and healthy and tastes like the best thing you can ever have for thanksgiving! You can either have your chicken baked or in a crockpot. Despite how it tastes (VERY DELICIOUS) I can guarantee it is very healthy and nutritious and you and your family will love it! Though if you can’t do chicken for some reason the next healthy alternative is bison. Bison tastes just as good but it’s not worth eating alone. I love my bison with potato or salad.
4. Salad
Salad is a great snack for thanksgiving, they usually have healthy and nutritious ingredients while tasting good at the same time! A couple of the ingredients include lettuce, tomatoes, cheese (common allergy, dairy), pickles, onions, etc. You can put so many varieties of ingredients on your salad that are nutritious and healthy, there are so many things you can eat them with that I can’t list them all. I eat my salads with a dip or something like guacamole on it! This is a very healthy alternative to most thanksgiving meals, and most people can eat it!
5. Brussel Sprouts
Brussel sprout is a great thing you can add to your Thanksgiving menu. It tastes great normally cooked, but it tastes way better roasted. They are very nutritious and healthy, and most people honestly don’t even know these exist (You’re one lucky person!)!
6. Apple Juice
Apple juice is a wonderful tasting, healthy, and very nutritious drink. If you never had this, you’re missing out. This is a great addition to your Thanksgiving menu and you should try it, if you like this, you’ll probably like the other drinks.
7. Lemon Ginger Kevita
Lemon Ginger Kevita is a flavor of kevita that is very nutritious and healthy. I recommend you check this out because it is one of the greatest drinks you can add to your Thanksgiving menu. (Small Note: It’s a little bit spicy at some times!)
8. Green Beans
Green beans are very healthy and nutritious and they taste delicious! They are very great to eat if you want a thanksgiving for food allergies, especially because they aren’t chewy and they are very easy to eat! You can eat them in lots of different ways, but I prefer eating them roasted!
9. Broccoli
Broccoli is a SUPER GREAT snack for thanksgiving! It is very healthy, and it’s not a very common allergy, so most people and their families can eat it! Broccoli is grown on a plant, so you can expect it to have lots of nutrients to keep you and your family healthy. I love eating my broccoli roasted!
10. Cauliflower
Cauliflower is an alternative to broccoli, it is healthy and nutritious and it is also plant grown, so it is just expected to be nutritious at this point. It’s not chewy, and it’s also effortless to eat! It’s not a very well-known snack but I recommend giving it a try! I also like my cauliflower roasted.
11. Pie
A Pie is a well-known dessert and is a wonderful dessert to be used on thanksgiving. Pie also comes in many flavors, as well as some others on the list. Pie can come in: Blueberry, Cranberry, Apple, Blackberry, Raspberry, etc. Many of you will probably like pie, and in case you are allergic to one flavor, there are so many more flavors that you and your family can choose from!
12. Carrots
Carrots are a well-known vegetable that you can eat in salads and various other meals, they are grown from the ground, so they are very healthy and can be eaten with other healthier snacks. I prefer eating it with lettuce and bison.
13. Lettuce
Lettuce is a wonderful thing to eat with your thanksgiving meal! not only is it the foundation of many products and foods, but it tastes wonderful and most people like it! It is especially great to eat on thanksgiving and not many people have an allergy to this, so it is a great thing to eat in salads, or just in general.

One thing I recommend is looking up products people made with these foods, if you can eat them you can usually eat those products, and that will get you another snack added to your Thanksgiving menu, there are endless possibilities!
